Can I skip this and run it later via shell? If yes: are there any alterings after this? Or can I proceed to step 7?

No, do NOT skip any upgrade steps!

How large is your post table? It's not uncommon for this step to take quite a long time with lots of posts.

The Browser stopped loading, so I had to run this step manually at the shell (ALTER TABLE post CHANGE username ...) and then I proceeded to step 7. Thanks for your yelling anyway .
