  • Parse variables via Plugin Manager for templates WITHIN AdminCP?

    Hello.

Is there a way to parse only certain variables via Plugin Manager (or other method) that are contained in templates when viewing the template code e.g. in Style Manager and/or 'Compare Versions' WITHIN AdminCP?

I'd like to find a way to add new code to templates and insert that code as a variable for easier modifications upon vB UPGRADES, BUT I want to be able to see its parsed value when viewing the template within AdminCP, so I can see the flow of the code as though I entered it directly into the template.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    See this thread.

I don't know of any hack or other easy method to substitute in variable values for names in the template editor. You might post on www.vbulletin.org about this.

      Thanks for your reply.

Is there a way to call a database table field contents directly into a template?

If so, I could store the code there, BUT not sure how to reference it.

      Thoughts?

      Thanks in advance.

You need custom PHP code for that. Create a new plugin at the appropriate hook location:

Admin CP -> Plugin System -> Add New Plugin

For help writing plugins I recommend you post on www.vbulletin.org.
