Pull team members avatar into custom template

I am constructing a team members/staff page and am wondering if there is a way I can pull a users avatar for a userID...? So, I know the UserID and Username, I want to be able to show the users avatar.

Is this do-able?

This code will work:

<img src="image.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$bbuserinfo[userid]" alt="" border="0" />

...although it doesn't contain the dateline for the avatar record, so you might have problems with browser caching. You can query the avatar record to get the dateline if you want.
