Forum Email Problems :-(

Is there anything to do about forum emails that are automatically sent to the spam/bulk box (Yahoo/Hotmail email types) or completely rejected AOL?

I'm getting a lot of complaints from people who are having problems signing up or getting subscription emails.

Just to clarify, this is not a problem with my forum, people are receiving the email (except AOL) but they don't check their spam boxes. Is there anything you can modify to make emails not look like spam?

You can try this:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Email Options -> Enable "-f" Parameter -> Yes

Other than that, it's beyond your control.

I'm using smtp, will the f parameter thingy still do anything?

Probably not. It won't hurt anything though.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166599 There are actually multiple threads with this issue. I think it is a issue with 3.5.2 possibly as when I upgraded from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2 I started having this issue.
I hope they merge all these threads with people having this issue to create a fix!

Well, I've had this problem since 3.5.0, basically since I migrated my forum from phpbb to vBulletin. Never had a user complain about the mail going to spam with my phpbb board.

I'm just suprised there isn't a way to change the look of the emails sent from the forum to look like a proper email.

Amen to that. Seems like it should be a no brainer to understand why this is happening and fix it.
