Force users to visit an info page once?

Hello,

i would love to do the following after upgrading to 3.52.

User who call my page (users, not guests) shall be redirected to an infopage where i tell them that they can now use skype infos into their profile (or some other stuff).

This way shall only happen once!

Is there a way to do this or maybe a known hack?



User or guest?
User -> has viewed the latest info page?
no -> show latest info page

Of course it should be possible to reset the viewing status.

The more i ask, the more i think about asking in vb.org ...

And you're right. This requires either a source code edit, or a plugin.
Setting a value as required doesn't lock the existing members their accounts until they updated their profile.

One way you could do it - and only if you use phpAdsNew which I am not sure you do - is to have a single popup ad shown just the once to everyones browser.

There is a 'user must sign contract' hack available at vbulletin.org. I suggest that you have a look if that could be of any use.

Check vbulletin.org for dynamic announcements. You can set up popups and announcements on top of the forums (popup is VERY visible) according to your needs. You can specifiy how many posts people must have, which status they have, how often it will be displayed (like every 24 hours or evey login) etc. etc. it IS very dynamic. I used it for similiar reason ...
