past a migration and a DNS change, i am only getting the following error:
obviously, this is quite annoying, considering that if i go to my url/forums/admincp/, i can login and access all the data/forum settings etc.
and yes, before anyone points the obvious, the mysql host is set to localhost and not to the domain itself...
if it were at least reporting in more detail what the problem was - if i change credential details on purpose in config.php, then i get the usual vbb 'we enountered a small DB problem' message with an email to admin etc. not the case when the details are correct...
i also created a small php script connecting to the vbb db with the same privileges as the ones in config.php, i can connect and read/write from the db just fine...
it is not load related, box is empty. 04:21:14 up 9 days, 4:31, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
is is not a server issue either, i also succeeded in running a copy of vbb as a separate install on a different DB name and it works. i can even get the broken install to work with the other forum's DB, just not the one i transferred via mysqldump from the original host.
any ideas as i am stumped....
