Custom changes in templates

Hi,

I made quite a lot of changes in several templates (33) and now I would like to check, what I changed .. Unfortunately I just learned certain stuff during the process, hence I did not really marked changes like <!-- --> or used the option "Save in Template History?" .

Long story short, how can I check WHAT I have changed or added ?

I can view the original code, sure. I tried saving both, original and changed template in a text file and tried to use fc, but this is way too confusing ...

Any thoughts ?

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « »

Edit the custom template. Click the [View History] link next to the title. Now you can compare versions side-by-side.

Yeah, but as I said, I never saved the history, did not make the tick basicially

Try editing and saving the template with the history option enabled. That should stick the customized version into history so you can compare it with the default.

I gonna try that, thanks , if not, I just found a very nice thing anyway ...

A tool called DiffDoc, what I did (for test) copy / paste original and modified template in textfile and in this program you see both files beside eachother with color marking about the changes ... I guess this is the punishment for not using that (saving history) feature .. but this is ok, at least a solution even though it takes a bit ...
