  • Domain change -- redirect internal links?

    Hi all,

I'm planning to change domains soon (but remain on the same server).

I was wondering if there was an easy way to redirect internal links from the old domain to the new domain?

i.e., an automatic redirect from to

thanks in advance, and apologies if this is not the right place to ask this question.

I suppose you could do a MySQL search and replace through the post table and replace all these links.

I wish the [ url ] tag let you do just showthread.php?t=123, then I would use it all the time and it would survive a forum switchover.

that's one way of doing it, definitely.

in fact, and i'm not sure why i didn't mention this, but when i switched my blog to its own domain a year or two ago, a friend wrote a very simple php redirect script that took the post id out of the url and redirected to the new domain with the same post id.

i suppose i could replace showthread.php and showpost.php with a version of that script, but showthread.php takes both t= and p=, and i'm not php savvy enough to add conditionals to the script...
