  • Problem with Firefox 1.5 and vBulletin when using ALT + Nums

    Hello,
I test this on my board running vBulletin and I also test it on this board.

The problem is that when on the forum, if I press Alt + any number, for example "Alt + 164" (for typing ñ in Spanish), the page changes to another link from the vB menu. It seems that there is a new feature in Firefox 1.5 that allows to some type of links to be followed via Alt + number. But this affects when someone tries to type a special character (like Spanish accents) on a board like vB. Does anyone have any idea about this on Firefox 1.5, and if there is a way to disable it?

    Hi.

These are access keys. There's no way to disable these by default in FireFox though. You can get Firefox to focus instead of activate (just like IE) when using accesskeys by setting "accessibility.accesskeycausesactivation" to "false" in about:config.
You can also edit your navbar template and remove the accesskeys from the templates on your own board. Look for code like: accesskey="1"
    Best Regards
