    custom avatars won't save

When members, (and myself) try to upload a custom avatar, we get the error message "unable to save avatar". It seems this has only started to happen after 3.5.1 3.5 was okay. sizes and types of file are all within the boards parameters. (150x150 19.5K)

Could you elaborate on what it was? I'm having the exact issue as well.

      Thanks much for your time!

        Ok found, fixed...

if you have customavatars and customprofilepics stored into database
just empty customavatars and customprofilepics folder then go to admin area
Avatars > User Picture Storage Type

          Thanks Flash,
I've got mine stored in a subfolder, i don't like storing any more in the database then I have too. They were ok until I did the upgrade I guess.
We never mess with them unless we invite in a new user.

Just odd cause it's uploading the avatar jpg ok, no errors. Just not showing up for the new user.

          I appreciate you responding though

            Last tip...

            from console
            Code:
            chmod +x customavatars
            chmod +x customprofilepics
            from FTP program
            Code:
            set 777 permissions to
            [B]customavatars[/B] and [B]customprofilepics[/B] folders

              Yep permissions were good..

Updating from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2 seems to have fixed it, our forum is invite only so it takes me forever to find the little bugs like that.

Once again, thanks much for your help Flash, have a good holiday
