Removing space between left column and forum

I followed the directions here for adding a column on the left hand side of the forum. I've since gone in and added an ad but now I'd like to eliminate the extra space between the ad itself and the forums. Right now the width in the header and footer is set to 100% and the ad itself is 120 pixels wide. I'm not sure what to do next.

Any help would be great.

Also, is there a way to leave the side column off a portal entry page (I'm using VBadvanced)? I'd like the column/ad to show up on every page except the portal page: www.thegrooveshoppe.com/test

It's a margin.

Go into the CSS manager and look at the very top and in the special CSS box on the right, you'll see the margin settings (first is the top; second the right; third the bottom; fourth the left). Set the fourth entry (which IIRC is at 25px), to whatever size you want.

Thanks for your reply. I've gone into the CSS settings... Should I be changing the settings for the body or for the page background?

OK - I tried changing the CSS attributes in the "Special CSS" box and it's still not moving over. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm not sure if you have your table tags right.

You have <td> <td> and then after the phpAds javascript, you have </td> </td> </table>. I've never seen table tagging like that. It's usually
<td> content </td></tr></table>

I just changed it in the header (which is where I think you saw that). Thanks for the heads-up - I'm definiltey a novice....

I still can't get rid of the extra space though to the right of my column.

Any other ideas out there?
