New Installation not Working?

Hi,

I keep getting a page not found message, and have been working at it for the past 9 hours straight trying to figure this thing out.

Godaddy's hosting, specificly windows, has problems with its php & mysql setups. I'd highly advise moving away from godaddy all together(for hosting, as a registar they are good), but if you cannot, get moved to one of their higher level linux packages.

So if I switch hosts it will work then?

If you switch toa better host, it has a better chance of working.

I cannot say for sure which host is better, or which host will work, as I host myself and have no expirences with any current hosts besides the ones we get reports on. GoDaddy is one of them that we hear about people having problems with,

Okay still not working. You're supposed to upload the entire upload folder into the public_html folder right? But where I get confused is the cpanel there says to upload all scripts into the cgi bin.

Alright I dont think this is right, I checked my home folder there found the upload file and looked for the config.php clicked on it and it has it's own page http://www.moneymakerslounge.com/upload/includes/config

Is that right?

Edit your config.php before you upload it.

Rename the upload folder to forum and then upload it via FTP to your public_html folder.

Then type www.moneymakerslounge.com/forum/install/install.php into your browser and follow the instructions.

So when I ftp to my public_html folder will it look like ftp://ftp.moneymakerslounge.com/public_html in the browser bar when I am uploading?

okay, got it upload but now I get error 1102, and tells me there is an error in my database. does it matter if there is a small space like 'jeffsmit_moneymakers ' ?
