    Question with IntelliTXT placement

    The goal is to get the text to appear only is post bodies. I have succesfully done this by placing the javascript code in the bottom of the showthread template.

    I have specified that only the message code is to be scanned by using their <span id="intellitxt"> tags by placing them in the postbit template:

    above: <!-- message -->

    and the closing tag above:

    <if condition="$post['signature']">

    because I don't want people's signatures to be scanned. Unfortunately the sigs are still being scanned. My question is why, if I closed the tag before the sig line, is it still scanning signatures?

    Thanks
    Danny

    I am not familiar with IntelliTXT so it is hard for me to help you.

    Are you closing the span properly?

    Code:
    <span id="intellitxt">

    ...

    </span>

          It should work. I know their Span tags are functional but there must be something in the postbit that I'm missing.

            Sorry, I don't know what is causing the problem. If the span tags are correct in the templates and page output, then it should be working as far as vBulletin is concerned.

                  I found the answer. My problem was that my forum was using the postbit legacy template (avatar beside the post not above the post) but I was modifying the postbit template. I fixed it and it works perfectly.

                  In your postbit template (postbit_legacy if applicable) find this code:

                  Code:
                          <!-- message -->
                          <div id="post_message_$post[postid]">$post[message]</div>
                          <!-- / message -->
                  and place your tags around it so it looks like this:

                  Code:
                  <div>
                          <span id="intelliTXT">
                          <!-- message -->
                          <div id="post_message_$post[postid]">$post[message]</div>
                          <!-- / message -->
                           </span>
                          </div>
                  <!-- /intelliTXT -->
                  I hope this helps.

                      Intellitxt is a new advertising revenue source for sites and forums. It scans your page and chooses keywords to highlight (you determine how many) and turn them into links to sponsored ads. You can mouse over the link to view the ad without clicking. It's a nice, non-obtrusive way of getting some ads on there, I think. I'm still in the testing phase though.
