  • How do I mass update all forums?

I just imported forums from phpBB and am going to customise and reorder the forums.

One of the things I want to change is the default number of posts to display in all forums. When imported it is set to 30 days which is not what I want so I need to change it. Is it possible to do a mass update so I don't have to manually edit each and every forum?
    Best Regards Tommy

Run this query on your database (backup first):

    Code:
UPDATE forum SET daysprune = X
Where X is the number of days. Use -1 to show all threads.

You can run this query in your:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query

Make sure your userid is entered into your includes/config.php file so you have permission to run queries:

    Code:
//	****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
//	The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
//	See the above entries for more information on the format.
//	Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
//	to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
    $config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = '';
After running this query you need to edit and save one of your forums in your Admin CP to prompt a rebuild of the cache.

      Thanks.

And this mass update was even defined in the admin cp so I just had to select that one and run it cool :-)
