  • Inserting VB 3.5 within existing website template

    I need some help. I am very new to forum software such as this and I need some direction in inserting V.B 3.5 into my existing website template. I have checked out other sites using this and have done this.

    Is there anybody who can lead me in the right direction????

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Common Templates (in the menu)

    The header and footer templates contain the top and bottom of the layout HTML. You can edit these templates to wrap your forum in some custom layout.

    If you have layout code in some central file, then you can capture the output of that file by adding a plugin:

    Admin CP -> Plugin System -> Add New Plugin

    Create a new plugin for the global_start hook location. Use code like this:

    Code:
    ob_start();
    require("yourheader.html");
    $header_contents = ob_get_contents();
    ob_end_clean();
    Change the red code to point to your file. Now you can use this variable in the header for example:

    Code:
    $header_contents
    ...and it will parse to the output of your file.

      This is exactly what I want to do using Joomla and Vb. Unfortunately the code required is way beyond my limited skills. Does anyone have more explicit sample code for a Joomla integration?

        There is a Joomla - vBulletin bridge available.
        You will need to ask at vBulletin.org for more details about this.
