  • Cleaning up VB

I have been running VB for a while now, and had a number of hacks installed over time, the DB has had the hack additions installed.

However, following various upgrades and streamlining of the forum, I now need to clean up the database as I am running a more or less hackless forum. I am just trying to work out the best way of cleaning out all the crud that exists in the db?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have a program like phpmyadmin on your server, then you can use it to compare your database with a default database and manually make changes to remove extra tables / columns.

Hmmm, yes I do have phpmyadmin but I was looking for something less work intensive.

Oh well, have to just go at it for a while.

I am sure a script could be written to find schema differences. I don't know of any such existing script though.

You could always use ImpEx to create a new clean database.
