  • Unread counts on main page?

We recently rolled our bord from UBBThreads to vB 3.5... very excellent move for us and most users are pleased. However, there is one complaint I keep getting, and that is for a feature of UBB that I can't seem to find in vB.

With the introduction of 3.5, the "what post/threads have been read by me" is much better and matched to what the users like, however, on the main page, is there a way to show an unread count for each forum? There are the columns that show the threads and post counts. With UBB the counts would look like this "3005 (15)" "15,763 (36)"... which basically meant that there were three thousand threads, 15 of which you have not ever read... and fifteen thousands posts, 26 of which you have not read yet.

Is this a hidden setting, future feature, or a hack to show the unread counts?

I don't know of any feature to do this. You might be able to find a hack on www.vbulletin.org, like a quick and easy plugin.

I found this one... but it's based on posts since I last logged in... not ones that I have read. So time based vs. databased based read indicators.

It's close to a possible solution, but no cigar.

Still not exactly what I am looking for, but a step in the right direction!
