  • Text of private message in PM Notification e-mail

    In vBulletin 3.0x, I could include the text of a private message in the PM notification e-mail by inserting $message in the pmreceived phrase. This doesn't work for me in 3.5.0. Has there been a change? Thanks!

    It may now be $pagetext. Try that.

          Use {$this->pmtext['message']} now, including the curly braces. For example:
          Code:
          Dear $touserinfo[username],

          You have received a new private message at $vboptions[bbtitle] from $fromusername. Please click here to log in and read it:
          $vboptions[bburl]/private.php

          The message is: [B]{$this->pmtext['message']}[/B]

          All the best,
          $vboptions[bbtitle]

                  Does anyone know how to extract just the subject of the pm to place it in the email. Because I want to give them info about the message just not all the text of the message of they will be forced to login to read the message. Because I have users that will try to reply back to the email that was send to them.

                    Problem with bbcode in PM and this fix

                    If you use this fix, and insert the message of the PM into the email notification message, if the message has BB code, it appears in the email.

                    $vbphrase[pmreceived]:

                    Code:
                    Dear $touserinfo[username], You have received a new private message at $vboptions[bbtitle] from $fromusername.
                    Please click here to log in and read or reply to this message: $vboptions[bburl]/private.php

                    The message content is as follows:
                    ---------------------------------------
                    {$this->pmtext['message']}
                    ---------------------------------------

                    All the best, $vboptions[bbtitle]

                    This is an automatic notification email. Do Not reply to this email, as the user who sent this private message will not recieve your reply. You must visit $vboptions[bburl]/private.php in order to reply.
                    Email message recieved: ( portion only )

                    Code:
                    The message content is as follows:
                    ---------------------------------------
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    [B]Testing message body in notification email[/B]
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    Testing message body in notification email
                    ---------------------------------------
                    It won't let me post it properly above, but it also sends the {b} {/b} tags in the body of the text email....

                    How can this be fixed?? it should only send a plain text version, excluding all bbcodes.
