I am pretty new here and do not know too much about vBulletin yet. My question is: when I have modified the look of vBulletin by creating my own theme, can I later upgrade to another version of vBulletin without having to do all the work again?
I know that this was a huge problem with Invision Board a few years ago. I had re-designed the board completely and then a security issue came up and I had to upgrade to another version, which was completely not compatible with the older skin system.
Is this the same with vBulletin?
And does anyone know when a stable 3.5 version of vBulletin will be released?
Generally you won't have to redo your templates.
There is always a post in the announcements about new versions that state which templates changed. If one of these require a revert, you'll most likely have to reapply the changes to that template, as you could be missing out on bugfixes otherwise.
