"Username / password incorrect" when they are correct

I have a vB database that was recently transfered from one server to another. Everything is working fine now, but no one is allowed to log in. Everyone who tries receives the message that their username / password is incorrect. Any ideas or suggestions on this? Maybe a corrupt or incomplete user or password table?

How did you backup and restore the database? The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet orssh. Please see the instructions here:

This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file.

There is no SSH/Telnet access for accountholders with either host, so unfortunately the backup had to be made with a PHP script. We'll try to copy the individual user / password tables again and see if that can help any.
