    setting up a test bord

    hi, every 1!

I'm trying to get my test board to run off the images from my regular board. How/where do I set the paths??!?!?

    Thank!

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> All Style Options -> Image Paths

Set these to the specific URL for the relevant directories.

Those you should just upload to the test board.

            Yes...

same step by step when you set up a new install.

ONly exception is that the test directory should be unknown to the public and protected with a password or something.

            I have .htaccess / password ...

            edit: sorry, wasn't clear enough

You can set up a new install like at area51.something.com or testvb.something.com, with a new database & etc... That way the changes to the test database doesn't go to the live database til you're ready to put whatever live lol

heh... You can also do a local test site which means the site resides on your computer and is not accessible from the Internet.

*shrugs* just throwing out ideas lol

But if you do a "local" test site, that means you need apache, and so on...

But be sure you are not testing with your live database!

ok? well i have plunty of space on my home unit to do what ever i want... so maby that is the best option for me. so i would have to install apache. this sounds like maby i should partion off a section of my drive and keep a test board there all the time for tweeking and so on?
