  • Failed Beta 3 -> Beta 4 Upgrade... SQL Errors

Tried to upgrade... uploaded the new files and ran the upgrade script. The upgrade script appears to go through fine, but the board does not upgrade. It still registers as Beta 3 and gives the following error on the Thread Listing.

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.0 Beta 3:

    Invalid SQL:

    SELECT post.pagetext AS preview,
thread.threadid, thread.title AS threadtitle, thread.forumid, pollid, open, replycount, postusername, postuserid, thread.iconid AS threadiconid,
lastpost, lastposter, thread.dateline, IF(views<=replycount, replycount+1, views) AS views, notes, thread.visible, sticky, votetotal, thread.attach,
    , NOT ISNULL(subscribethread.subscribethreadid) AS issubscribed
    , deletionlog.userid AS del_userid, deletionlog.username AS del_username, deletionlog.reason AS del_reason
    FROM thread AS thread
LEFT JOIN deletionlog AS deletionlog ON(thread.threadid = deletionlog.primaryid AND type = 'thread')
    LEFT JOIN subscribethread AS subscribethread ON(subscribethread.threadid = thread.threadid AND subscribethread.userid = 1)

LEFT JOIN post AS post ON(post.postid = thread.firstpostid)

Bump... this error is occurring on a live forum, so this is upmost importance to me.

Looks like you are, or were running a hack, and now its causing a problem with an upgrade. I highly suggest restoring your backup you made before you ran the upgrade, and undoing any changes hack installers have made.

hiddencount is a new field in beta 4, sounds like you've not ran the upgrader correctly since your database error message is reporting beta 3.

There were no code modifications, and all plug-ins are disabled.

Am I missing something on how to run the upgrader correctly? Uploading the new upgrade files and running upgrade.php, correct?

Correct, make sure you loaded the latest upgrade.php though as it should have redirected you to upgrade_350b4.php.

If you go to upgrade.php and it doesn't work then go directly to upgrade_350b4.php

Which is what I've been doing... the upgrade script appears to run okay. It throws no errors and guides me all the way to the admincp login. Unfortunately, the version number hasn't changed and I'm still getting the damned error.

Then somthing is off, try reuploading the files for starters and giving it another shot.
