    Only 3.5 uses LOCK query. I had the same problems and needed my provider to add these settings manually.

    As my provider is very big, there will be a lot of other people complaining about the use of the LOCK query ... But for me it's solved

    i've run vb3 for like a year without that privilege... i can't remember getting a db-error email with a LOCK query. but maybe i / my users never used such a function

    I do Believe that it was nessary in previous versions of vBulletin.. or it was at least recomended.

    just in case anybody has the same problem as i had. since vb 3.5.0, your mysql-user needs the LOCK TABLES privilege on your forum database what it didn't need before.

    otherwise, the forum seams to work, but you get some problems (pages are reloading like 5 times automatically) and your technical email gets tons of emails of mysql errors (2300 within an hour in my case)
widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
