Table getting bigger by itself?!

hiya,

im in the middle of merging 2 database..
i took a grab of my posts table about 3 hours ago, and it was 9MB...
now its 10.3MB!? but forums are closed, no-ones on it?!..

also i noticed that the main dump increased by 20MB in less than 12 hours..

any ideas?

If you are 'in the middle' of a merge, and inserting data from one database into the other, it is kind of obvious that one of them grows

If your forum is closed and you browse it, postcache will be stored probably.

nah im merging on localhost, and retrieving from live database, dumped the posts table a few times, and each time it got larger... when it shouldn't.. the forums are closed, and im not doing anything (apart from dumping) from the live posts table..

overhead might be the cause, and that what mysql reports or the ftp dislplays doens't have to be the same size

run optimize and it will reduce in size.
