How to I remove the 'powered by vBulletin' option included next to the name chosen for your site at the top of the page?

Which file do I need to edit?

I believe you can remove the part in the title, but you aren't allowed to remove it from the footer - if you also want to remove it there, you have to select the branding-free option from the member area (costs money).

Having said that, since you can remove it from the title, edit the phrase and modify it, or the templates that hold this code:

    <title><phrase 1="$vboptions[bbtitle]">$vbphrase[x_powered_by_vbulletin]</phrase></title>

^--- you can edit it to:

    <title>$vboptions[bbtitle]</title>
