  • Split Thread -- Increase Preview Text

    Could someone please provide me the relevant template/file that displays the preview text window...I'm trying to increase the default # of words...

  • #2
    I second that. I'm trying to either turn it off or limit it.

      It's in the Forum Display Options:

      Length of Thread Preview Text

      Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

        He's asking about "Split Thread", not the tooltip text in forum display.

              D'oh! I was just going by the message itself, not the thread title. In that case I have no idea how to increase this.

                It looks like it's done in the threadadmin_postbit template. Perhaps this section:

                <div style="padding-left: {$depth}em">$post[pagetext]</div>

                This may require hacking the $depth variable in the appropriate script. You can try asking over at vbulletin.org.

                  I found it - it's in functions_threadmanage.php

                  It's hardcoded to 100:
                  Code:
                                // cut page text short if too long
                                          if (strlen($post['pagetext']) > 100)
                                          {
                                                $spacepos = strpos($post['pagetext'], ' ', 100);
                                                if ($spacepos != 0)
                                                {
                                                        $post['pagetext'] = substr($post['pagetext'], 0, $spacepos) . '...';
                                                }
                                           }
