  • All IP addresses show up as own in Admin CP.

One of my clients is having a problem... Anytime he tries to view IP addresses via the Admin CP, all he can see is his own. He went so far as to take some screenshots, first of him using the "View IP Addresses" link in the User Manager, and then it displaying his own IP addresses instead of the user's that he searched for. In the search results screen it even shows that he searched for himself instead of that user. He is using XP Pro and IE 6, and he has also tried on a machine running Win98. He also says that another one of his admin's in Canada is having the same problem. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
    Spread Peace,
    Brian Gunter

    same issue..

    --
we installed vb3.0.1 a couple of weeks ago and we are having the same issue on our forums at http://www.royouth.com

when i try to do a search by membername in the admincp IP search tool, it only shows MY IP's. same goes for the IP field as well if i try to search

also when i go to SEARCH FOR USER and look up membernames the IP field is BLANK.

    what is happening?

Do you have any firewall or AV software running?

are you using cookies seperate from vB anywhere on your site? I wrote one of my scripts using a cookie name as 'username' and unless I remove that cookie, my username will show up in the search fields in the adminCP as well.

I think you have it, both my live installs seem to be fine (3.0.1).

It worked, that's strange, would it have anything to do with photopost or vbportal being installed?

i'm not familiar with photopost, but it sounds like something that would use 'username' as a possible variable. I would find it odd if the portal did, since it would seem logical to me that would just function off the normal vB cookie 'bbuserid'.

I'm having the same problem with "View IP Addresses" when I looking at a user's account. It seems to think I've searched for the address of the admin even though I haven't. In fact, if I manually type a username in the "Search IP Addresses " section, it still shows the Admin's (and says admin). I have no special mods installed.

I am having the same exact problem as well.

I run the same code on my live board and test site, and on the test site it runs fine.

                    Any ideas?
Yup I run a BIG Board.

Just the arcade and vbadvanced homepage.

Again I run the same code on my site and my test site and the test site runs fine, the main site does not run correctly.

                        Weird

Submit a support ticket with admin login, ftp access and phpmyadmin access. I know there was a bug in this regard in the past but I am pretty certain it was fixed before 3.0.1

.. assuming you have not modified your forum.
