Okay THAT is what I was looking for. I didn't realize you had to enable inherent permisions on the usergroup level.

    Thanks. Problem solved.

    You're missing my point again.

Let me make it a simple question so people understand better.

Q: Shouldn't someone be able to view the forums of an "additional usergroup" they have assigned even if their primary usergroup doesn't have access?

Ya, I already did that.. My post isn't on how to "hack" my way into getting things to work though. It's asking the functionality of the additional usergroups. Read my original post. I'm wondering if things are workign properly.

Because I want them "displayed" as Retired... that's is essentially their "primary group" but they should have permissions to all the other stuff... 2ndary...

started a topic problem with additional usergroup

    problem with additional usergroup

I'm trying to setup a "Retired" usergroup for regular members of my forum for people who no longer active in our game. However, whenever admins retire I would like to be able to put them in the same group and still have them be able to access the admin-specific forums. So, I set the primary group as Retired and checked the box for the admin group under additional usergroups but they ONLY see the regular Retired forums and not the admin ones!

I'm not really sure if this should work or not, but I assume it's how it's setup based on reading some other posts so what am I doing wrong?
