    I know this is all volunteer, for-the-love-of-it tweaking, but... any plans for an update for this "PHP-as-CGI" archive fix for 3.0.5?

    Alas, I was a little premature. The forum index opens up fine in the Archive but the actual posts aren't showing and, instead, it redirects back to the forum index (PDA).

    Thanks !
    2. "Suche und lösche die folgende Zeile:" (Step 2)

    = Find and delete the following line.

    Thanks martin, it´s working

    merk, you're the man -- saved me countless time searchnig for the config value to enable this I went from Apache 2.0.40 (archive working) to 2.0.46 where it stopped, and it left me scratching my head a bit. Thank you for posting this up

    No, since you are running PHP as CGI.

    Sorry I have read this post several times and cannot get it to work

    Shared server so cannot change the settings = PHp CGI

    Is there anymore info on this as I have upgraded from 3.01 to 3.03 and now no archive which mean a lot of archive pages lost (this is the reason I bought VB )

    Oh have archive but when you click on a cat it just reloads the main archive page

    Thank you for your time

    Subsonic here's the code I use in my .htaccess file and it works for me.
    Code:
    RewriteEngine on
      RewriteBase /forums/archive
      RewriteRule ^(f-|t-)+([0-9]+)?(-p-[0-9]+)? index.php?a=$1$2$3 [QSA]

    This is the original before adding anything from the above file

    # -FrontPage-

    IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti*

    <Limit GET POST>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all
    allow from all
    </Limit>
    <Limit PUT DELETE>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all
    </Limit>
    AuthName www.nx99.co.uk
    AuthUserFile /home/nx99/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd
    AuthGroupFile /home/nx99/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.grp
    That is a copy and paste... the original is a continuous block over 5 lines as I look at it in notepad.

    The bit added from the file above is as follows...

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteBase --- FILE PATH TO YOUR FORUM ARCHIVE (SEE BELOW) ---
    RewriteRule ^(f-|t-)+([0-9]+)?(-p-[0-9]+)? index.php?a=$1$2$3 [QSA]
    where file path was changed to either forum/archive/ or http:www.nx99.co.uk/forum/archive/

    However I never got far enough to test which would work as the error comes as soon as you enter a site address.

    Not as easy as one might think!

    OK when I looked at my site I found there is an existing .htaccess file.
    So I contacted them for advice... they told me to add changes to that file... hmmmm
    This file is found in the root of the site and when I add the changes I get the following for the site....
    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.nx99.co.uk Port 80
    The server owners will not offer any further assistance as it is third party software

    Can anyone help with this please?
