    You shouldn't use the Gold files with RC4. Either reupload the original RC4 files or upgrade to Gold.

    Is it safe to do that on an RC4 installation? I haven't upgraded yet, and won't have time to in the next week or so, but it's important I get things working again for the moment. I don't have the original RC4 files locally, just the Gold files.

    I'm having the same problem. Although I haven't changed the footer recently, the dropdowns (and other javascript related stuff) spontaneously stopped working overnight while I was asleep.

    I'd look at the footer template as suggested above, but the problem is extending to the Admin CP - I'm not able to access the Edit Templates options. Is there another way to edit/view templates?

    In your footer template, you are missing a closing </script> tag.

    Find this code:
    HTML Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
     // Main vBulletin Javascript Initialization
     vBulletin_init();
    //-->
    and replace it with this:
    HTML Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
     // Main vBulletin Javascript Initialization
     vBulletin_init();
    //-->
    </script>
    Kier.

    Thank you for that. I had the same problem due to having an additional disclaimer in my footer - I hadn't reverted the style. After trying to fix this problem by uploading all the files again and still not getting it to work, thought about searching for the problem and 'BINGO' there's the fix.

    Cheers

    The solution you listed doesn't seem to apply to my forums... In the FORUMDISPLAY template I do not see the conditional you say to remove. The closest thing i see is:

    PHP Code:
    <if condition="$vboptions['usepopups']"

    Ok, I've replaced all the files in /clientexec, I've cleared my cache on all my test machines, I've checked the templates and options, and the problem still exists on my board.

    The problem appears to have fixed itself on vb.com, though ... at least on my Mac w/ Safari 1.1

    Any ideas on how I can fix this weird bug? Should I submit a bug report for it?

    all vb sister sites appear fine along with any other gamma sites I visited today, just vb.com and the original poster's site are affected by this bug on forumdisplay.php from my home. From any pc, regardless of browser or OS.

    I have the same problem.

    All drop down menus work here on this board except "Forum Tools", which instead takes me to the Forum Tools located at the bottom of the page. (see attached image). And "Search This Forum", which doesn't take me down to the Search box at the bottom to the page but rather seem to have an anchor at the link itself.

    I do not have this problem at my local test board on my computer at home.
