  • Can't Build Search Index

My forum is http://www.hitemup.com/forum/ with over a million posts.

When I build the search index under the Maintenance tools, I get this error, any way around this? Thanks.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/hitemup.com/httpdocs/forum/includes/functions_databuild.php on line 583

I was getting similar errors on my forums .. upgrading php to a newer version fixed it .. seems there's a memory leak in one of the earlier versions ..

    Hope that helps ..

You can try increasing the Allowed Memory Size to 16M in your php.ini file .. reboot your box and then try to index ..

Also close your forums while you do it ..
