  • Custom Titles after X amount of posts

How do I allow a user to set their own custom title after they have made 1000 posts? I have seen it done at a few boards.

    Thanks

      Go into your admincp...

Click on Usergroups. Add New Usergroup. Name the group whatever you want and set the permissions however you wish, but make sure you set "Can use custom titles" to Yes.

Then click Promotions under Usergroups. Add New Promotion. Set original Usergroup to whatever you have your members at (usually Registered). Set Post count to 1000 (or whatever you want it set at). Set Reputation and Days Registered to 0. Select Posts or (Reputation and Date) for Promotion Strategy.

Promotion type should be Primary Usergroup. Change the Move User to Usergroup to whatever the name was of the group you created. Then every time the script runs to promote people, users will be moved into the new group allowing them to change their titles.

Is there a way to make it so you don't have to select for the user to be moved into a new usergroup? It will be a PITA to recreate the usergroups with all of the options, etc.

Will this effect the Registered Users from obtaining their settings from the Registered Users group (ie: will they still remain in their original group)?
