  • **Attachment Upload Problem**

Here is the URL to the site: http://www.unitedridaz.org/forums

the problem is, when you click on manage attachements, the box pops up and we browse to add attachment, click add file and it seems to be uploading and then all of a sudden the upload box clears and there is no file to upload. This has just started happening, so not sure what happened....

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.....

    Thanks
    Dennis Zachow

"Just started happening" means that it worked before?

Make sure the file you are trying to upload has an allowed extension (.txt or .zip) and that the extension manager is set to allow that size of the file. (like uploading 200kb and permission is set to 500kb max)

Also make sure that there is a tmp/ dir to write to.
If you run in safe_mode ON, you can make a temp dir in your web server and chmod it 777 so the script can work with it before putting it in the database or the predefined path on the web server.

Did you press 'add this file' or did you press 'all done' ?

You need to press 'add this file' first, and when it is listed, then you press 'all done'. And then you get back to the post you are making and press on 'submit post'.

Yes we press "add this File" Then it used to upload and would show the file the user attached, then press all done. Now it will not show the file you are attaching.....??

Make sure all your attachments settings are correct. Goto phpmyadmin and see if the new attached file is indeed in the attachments table.

If you did not modify the source code, and you are sure it doesn't load a cached page .. then maybe you run into a bug?

But it does sound like a attachments setting that might be wrong, or a cached browser page.

                    You use a proxy maybe?

You didn't answer the PHP "safe_mode" mode question posted above. Check phpinfo settings for this and let us know if it is On or Off.

Did you try attaching any other images, or are you trying to attach the same one? Perhaps try attaching a small gif file.
