    Lost Admin abilities and can't get tech support

    I was changing moderators in my board on 11/10 and the batteries in my cordless mouse was going dead. Somehow I got booted out of the screen I was in and now I don't have the admin option on the bottom of my screen anymore.

    I've emailed and called and no one has responded.

    I paid $60 for telephone support but no one is in!

    Can someone please help me?

    I have personally responded to at least 3 your your support tickets. I know that Martin has responded to another one. I also called your home and talked to someone there (you weren't home.) I explained to him that since you are running vB3 you need to post any problems you are having on the forums. Since this is still in beta stage, we are only providing support for it on the forums right now.

    I also explained in one of the support tickets that your problems is almost certainly cookie related. Either cookies are being blocked, or you have made changes to the Cookie Domain and/or Path that are causing a problem.

    I honestly don't know what more we can do. We have replied to each and every one of your tickets and have even called your home.

      finally some help

      I have gotten NONE of the mails. Since you are sending them they are lost in cyber space. NO ONE has told before that I had some kind of beta version.

      Is there no way into the admin panel? Can the board itself be reset? I will be happy to do that if that will get this up and running tonight!

        It's possible your system is blocking our emails. But as you can see from the PM I sent you, we have been responding.

        As I said, this appears to be a cookie related issue. Are you absolutely sure you are not blocking cookies? Have you made any changes to the Cookie Domain and Path setting?

        If you wish to update your support ticket with the information I requested I can take a look. (The link to that ticket is in the PM I sent you.)

        Also the Members Area does state:

        Download vBulletin 3.0.0 Beta 7
        You may download the latest beta release of vBulletin 3 here.
        Please note that this is not the current stable release.

          You may also want to try this small script: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=469749

            Lisa, the login info you provided to your phpMyAdmin doesn't work. And Joe's idea is a good one. Try running that script to see if it helps.

            Also is there any reason you can't upgrade to beta 7?

              It turns out the problem is that the only Admin user was accidentally changed to a Super Mod. It had nothing to do with cookies. We'll need the phpMyAdmin login to fix this.

                sounds like someone got lock outside her own house, having all keys inside

                Steve, you can modify that fix login script to regain_admin.php, something like

                PHP Code:
                 <?php
                require_once('./includes/init.php');
                require_once(
                './includes/functions.php');
                require_once(
                './includes/adminfunctions.php');
                echo
                "<p>Regain Admin ''</p>";
                $DB_site->query("UPDATE " TABLE_PREFIX "user SET usergroupid = '6' WHERE username='[b][color=red]USENAMEHERE[/color][/b]'");
                echo
                "<p>Finished! <a href=\"admincp/index.php\">Proceed to admin cp</a></p>";
                ?>
                and ask Lisa to replace that USENAMEHERE by her username in the script. Upload the file into vBulletin folder and run it, and ... delete it.

                That way you dont need to care about accessing to phpMyAdmin.

                Hope you guys will open the door for her to go back inside soom

                also, suggest her to edit the config.php file to lock her account, so noone (even herself) can edit her account from ACP.

                  Martin fixed it. He just ftp'd in and took the db username and password from config.php. I should have thought of that.
