Hello, I havent payed for the Ad-removal [yet, ].

The lastest skin I installed removed the text and replaced it with an image. I have attached a copy of it, I was wondering if its ok, or if I need to add some text to the bottom, and if so, what text.

    Thanks very much.

    Nimrod.

No, that image is not acceptable. At the very least it needs to say:
Powered by vBulletin, Copyright 2000-2003 Jelsoft Ent. Ltd. .

The copyright years must be displayed in order for the copyright notice to be legal:

Who did you get this skin from? They need to be told about this.

By default this is in the footer template but I don't know wherre this style places it. You'll need to ask the maker of the style.

            Well the Footer says:

            PHP Code:
            </td>
            </
            tr>
            </
            table>

You may have to experiment but I'd try replacing this with the legal copyright first:

              <!-- $vbphrase[powered_by_vbulletin]<br />

Shall I try asking the maker, this all seems complicated?

I just don't want the 'Jelsoft Legal team' having a go at me, as I really wasnt aware, and am trying my best to resolve it asap.

If it's too compicated, then yes, ask the maker of the style for a fix.

                      Hi NimrodUK,
thank you for making me aware of this issue

I created and posted a new image to include all the legal requirment for the copyright to comply with http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html#fnv

Attached is the example of the new image

vbulletinstyles.com members can download the replacement .gif here:

It's strange that the vbulletinstyles.com owner never responded to the email I sent him 3 days ago.

James will probably need to answer this, but I don't believe that's sufficient. In a lot of cases the word "Limited" cannot be abbreviated in a legal statement such as a copyright.

The minimum allowed copyright must state:

vBulletin, Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.

You cannot abbreviate Enterprises and Limited.
