    Account activation email problems

Users who use free email services like yahoo.com and hotmail.com never see their account activation email the forum sends them because it gets put into their Bulk Email folder automatically.

Reason being is how the subject is worded I believe.

How can I edit the subject line and info in the body sent out by the software?

Email filters are unreliable. We have no control over this.

I understand that BUT I still need to be able to FIX the subject line and body of email the forum sends out because it is MOST LIKELY it is the subject line that is being filtered.

look in phrases, or tell your members to turn HIGH mode off in their spam settings

Faranth, please do not bother to respond to any of my posts.
                -------------

Support team, here is one I got just 2 minutes ago:

The following was sent from the contact form on the AtheistWorld website:

                Name: Chris Torgersen
                E-Mail: [email protected]
                Subject: To Webmaster
Message: I just registered at the site, but apparently the e-mail to confirm my membership went into my bulk e-mail folder and I accidentally deleted it. Is it possible that I could have a new one sent, or that you could delete my account so that I can sign up again?

                Thanks.

It's not just the attitude towards Faranth, it's the attitude in general.

Jelsoft cannot do anything if people who use Hotmail turn their spam filter on HIGH and your site email address is not in their safe list.

Well, part 1 of your problem is that EV1, which is host you're renting your IP from is blocked on many spam blocking lists because of their stance on not stopping spam coming from their servers.

Some block list owners have listed every single ip belonging to Ev1 for their spam support

Yahoo and MSN/Hotmail have been known to use variations of the SBL and several private blocklists.

Part 2 is that you have no control over what kind of block lists these servers use. I for one, dont allow signups from free email accts. That stops that problem quickly.
