Attachments are stored in the database. But in the admincp there is a function to move them out of the database into a directory of your choice. This is a manual process that you can do whenever you want to. It is also possible to move the attachments back into the database.

    admincp>Attachments>Attachment Storage Type

Are attachments saved as data in MySQL database?

    Hey guys,

The upload script worked fine for some big files that only admins can upload to the board. However, I noticed that my Database disk usage is climbing higher and higher. Im just wondering, if I decide one day to move hosts and I need to migrate my DB, can I exclude all my attachments and just get the goods (posts, profiles, settings, attachment ID's etc)?

I plan to use vb3 for videos for members and such and I want to make sure that I can migrate my stuff without the physical attachments but the ID of the attachments.

How does this work in VB3?

    Thanks!
