Not a bug, not a moan, just an observation. I recently 'lost' a dedicated server with our forums on it. The backup failed as well, so we had to revert back to a backup that is just under 8 months old. Hardly ideal, but better than completely starting from scratch.

This backup has nearing 300,000 posts and somewhere in the region of 3,000 users. I started the conversion process from 2.3.2 to 3.0.0B5 on this database at 14:47, and it's now 18:35, and it's still going. The actual UPGRADE was completed hours ago, but it just takes so long to rebuild the search indexes and all the other things one has to do after the upgrade. By my working out there is still another 4 hours to go!

In a way I'm almost glad the server died ... it would have taken 48-72 hours to do everything by my calculations on the old database due to its relative size!
