  • Upgrade, B4 -> B5, Step 6

    Step six shouldnt take more than seconds, its only importing a style.

    But, its been sitting here for around 15 minutes so far, without loading any of the layout of the page at all.

    I have around 6 styles, and 12 custom templates in each, i doubt this could cause the problem?

    Is there anything i can do to check out what the heck is going on?

      Yes, i tried :\

      Im not having the same problem as that thread either, i cant get "that far", the design of the page doesnt even load, sits there waiting to load, if you know what i mean. Ive tried many different browsers, and including lynx (lynx just sits there after accepting cookies from the script).

      CPU Usage is still at high levels. (split between 2 httpd processes it seems)

        Not to appear rude, but did you check the other threads mentioning 'step 6' as well?

          I understand Steve, some dont.

          I have searched both this forum and the troublshooting forums for any phrase with upgrade and beta in it (looking through most for 4 -> 5 step six. I couldnt see anything.)

            Hmmm....well I don't know what the problem is then. I could have sworn there was another thread with this exact same problem. I'll see if I can find it.

              The closest i came, was

              http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...t=upgrade+step

              Showing a similar problem. I got that DB error after refreshing the page. I am now running a "custom" script i made from the exact same code from the upgrade php script in my shell, which might make some difference.

              OOp!!

              Error returned from my "test" script (would be the same from the upgrade script) ->
              Importing vbulletin-style.xml

              Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 1200 seconds exceeded in /www/ozfortress/includes/adminfunctions_template.php on line 1313

                  I did take note of it, though i cant understand what is meant by "do you have lots of templates"? Im pretty sure any style will have lots of templates?

                  ps sorry if my posts dont make total sense, or i seem a bit unfriendly, its 2am

                    Could i get a count on how many "template" records a default install of b5 has in the template table and styleid of -10?

                    Code:
                    mysql> select count(*) from template where styleid=-10;
                    +----------+
                    | count(*) |
                    +----------+
                    |      301 |
                    +----------+
                    1 row in set (0.00 sec)

                    mysql>
                    I cant imagine that theres only 300 defaults, so it could be my custom templates causing the problem?

                      That would be an error while processing template conditionals. My guess would be that something's getting caught in an infinite loop.

                      Ignore the templates in styleid = -10 for now, how many do you have in styleid = -1?

                        None now

                        I had no styles i needed to keep, so i sorta um, imported brand spanking new style and template tables from a fresh b5 install.

                        Sorry i cant help out debugging whats going on, the only template conditionals i was using had "explode" functions in them, which shouldnt cause a problem?
