  • Scrollbar present at bottom of main forum page - how do I remove?

I did a global forum search here on: scrollbar bottom remove -- no results.

    So... what do I do?

A quick google search the first thing that came up was
The HTML 4.01 Transitional DTD includes everything in the strict DTD plus deprecated elements and attributes (most of which concern visual presentation) Text is not selectable in IE5/Mac and is selectable only with great difficulty in IE6/Win and in addition there is a horizontal scrollbar in IE5/Mac. Why? Simple. IE/Win does not like absolute positioning.

I dont think this is related, did you add anything that is positioned absoutly?

Try visitng this link, while for MAC and IE5 - it might be relevant.

The particular section you should try to read is the Hidden Margins bit

I'm afraid I didn't put anything fixed. I even tried to set the forums to 99% width.

one of your tables is 100% wide and IE has some bugs regarding XHTML and CSS.

ok i have the same problem so i resized them to 98 % however now the border runs over to that space, and creates a black box, how can i match those? so they are the same size

              please look at http://forums.dcevoclub.com

There are 2 tables in vBulletin's layout, youve only added the 98% to one of them, add it to the other as well

I'm about ready to try a global find/replace to 99%.

I didnt change any % widths, but I dont know if this came this way, or after a style edit (colors & icons only).

Scott, how do I find out what is the culprit, and why doesn't it happen on other vb3 forums?

I get the same scroll bar with main forums at 80%

There is NOTHING over to the right.

Problem is.. that's not the answer. And that would have been evident had someone checked back on this one.

When I click on the style from the style manager, I don't get the scrollbar.

But if I go to it normally, it's there.

What's (and where's) the difference? (ie, the difference is where the problem lies)

Okay, this is even wierder.... www.legionoflions.com is using a redirect domain. It's pointing to lol.compbuddy.com

                              Now...

http://lol.compbuddy.com does NOT have the scrollbar.

                              http://www.legionoflions.com does.

Apparently this isn't a simple table width var.
