  • Get Error When User Registers, Verification Email Problem

how do u use vb mail with a smtp server that requiers login? Above the template that says an email has been dispatched blah blah blah, i get

Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 503 This mail server requires authentication. Please check your mail client settings. in C:\www\HTDOCS\domains\www.valleyforums.com\includes\functions.php on line 2386

What exactly do I have to change? And of course, the email is never sent

I'm not aware of any way to do this from vB. Since vB uses PHP for it's mail services, your host will need to configure PHP to use this authentication.

Yah, thats what I was thinking. Its a dedicated server (windows), so could it be i have to edit php.ini?

That would be my guess. Is the mail server on another machine? It's possible that the mail server needs to be configured to allow email from your machine.

Announcements should show up in the forum you've enabled them for. Please note all announcements are in the same announcement link.
