  • Database Problem

The server I was on just went down, they had to backup everything and install new server software. Well, now it's back up and my database is not working. I get the following error when I try to access my forums:

"There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our <span style="color:#0000ff"><i>Techn...aff</i></span>, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience"

What info do I need to change in order to get my forums back up?

It helps to get the full error, like the email you have received or the source code of that page. Otherwise we can't help.

          1. One or more of the following is wrong in your config.php file:

          $dbusername
          $dbpassword
          $dbname

If you are unsure of what the appropriate values are then you will need to ask your web host.

          2. Or that this db user is not assigned to that database or does not have permission to access MySQL. You will need to contact your web host for help.

I have ran into a NEW DB problem. Here is what it says:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.0 Beta 6:

            Invalid SQL:
            ### SHOW USERS BROWSING THE BOARD ###
            SELECT
            user.username, (user.options &amp; 512) AS invisible, user.usergroupid,
            session.userid, session.inforum, session.lastactivity,
            IF(displaygroupid=0, user.usergroupid, displaygroupid) AS displaygroupid
            FROM session AS session
LEFT JOIN user AS user ON(user.userid = session.userid)
            WHERE session.lastactivity &gt; 1068323439
            ORDER BY username ASC

mysql error: Can't open file: 'user.MYD'. (errno: 145)

            mysql error number: 1016

Any help would be much appreciated.

table is locked by mysql server
              reason: corruption
fix: run optimize & repair a few times.

I can't, it won't let me login to the ADMINCP.

Oh, I guess you meant by logging into MYSQL. Well, my server "RackNine" sucks and they are not allowing me in with the password and username they sent me so, I guess until they do I'm screwed. Right?

You can run this query in phpMyAdmin to fix this:

                    REPAIR TABLE user;
