  • changing domain names

    HI all
I had installed vb3 and it was working just fine. Then I went and changed domain names from leafwerks.net to radiomonkey.org and I have two problems.

    1) I can't log into the admincp but I seam to be able to log into every thing else just fine.

    2) when vb is setting cookies it is still setting them with the domain=leafwerks.net and not the new one.

I of course changed some of the variables in the admincp ahead of the switch, then changed the email in the config.php.

dose any one know if there are any other ways that vb3 get's the domain, so that I can change them? and or how I can get back into the admincp? or am I looking at reinstaling?

    thanks

    Dwayne

If i wanted to change the domain name from .com to .co.uk, what would i need to change and where exactly...?

Did you check any .htaccess files on your web site?

Where would i find that, im still having this issue, everytime i goto the admincp, it redirects to the .co.uk domain, there must be a setting somewhere that i havnt done, can you please explain step by step the process when changing a domain name that the forum has been installed on...

I installed it on the .co.uk address and now want it on the .com address, it keeps redirecting back to the .co.uk address...

            Please, please advise..

Check all the web directories for any htaccess files.

Well something is causing this redirect. It's possibly in an index.html file somewhere.

The funniest thing, it seems fine, but when i goto the admincp login page, it redirects to the .co.uk address, i think i may have missed a setting somewhere, what is the process for changing a domain name and i will check over what i have done...

to me that looks like there is something in the admincp folder that is causing your problem
