I got the "Slight problem with database error message on step one. Here the code I got from the source. Looks like it can't go any further as the adminhelp table is missing, but I thought the script created these new tables?

Re-import your vB2 database and try again.

I selected the backup option at the beginning of the wizard, but have no idea how to restore the back up. Where would the backup have been saved to?

Most likely where you selected to download it. It would be named "vbulletin.sql" by default. To restore a backup, you need SSH or Telnet access. Your host will be able to tell you if you have this, and how to use it.

Move all your vB2 files back, and follow step 3 on this page: http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/movingservers.html

Then start the upgrade process over again.
