  • External Link Thumbnailed Image

    I have just uploaded via manage attachments a couple hundred images to have thumbnails on my site. Thumbnails and new window image work fine. I am trying to link one of the images on another site (Myspace as well = <img src="...">) but it only shows "..." and not the image. I have tried adding .jpg to the end of the link. Please find one of the images below as well as the thumbnail post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have searched for the past few hours but I guess I am not searching for the right answer.

    You can include remote images using the [img] bbcode.
    And you can link them using the [url] bbcode

    [url="http://url.com/file.jpg"][img]http://url.com/thumbnail.jpg[/img][/url]

        Here is the vBulletin FAQ about supported BBCode tags. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode

          In that case I would need to create a thumbnail image and a full size image and link the two correct? I looked through the vb code and didn't see anything that would change the url path of the full image to be able for someone to "copy link location" and post it on another vbulletin board.

            I am not sure anymore what you actually want to achieve here.

            If you want thumbnails, and link to remote image. just go to the attachment manager inside a new post and enter the url of the remote img, it will grab it and create a thumbnail + new image to link to.

            If you want to do this manually, yes, you will have to create your own thumbnails and link to the remote image.

              If you look at the link below, I am unable to link it on other forums. I have added .jpg. Is there a way in the admin panel to change the attached file manager to list the files in a way to be able to link them? The files link fine in Firefox, but not in an <img src=".."> thread.

                Perhaps guests aren't permitted to view attachments on forum A, so it can't be loaded to guests who look at it in forum B.

                Adding .jpg to it won't work, the data is PULLED from the database, it isn't a normal .jpg image you store on the filesystem
