        If you provide the URL to your forums we can see what the error is.

            For future reference, right-click on the error page and go to View/Source. That will show the real database error message. In this case it's:

            Link-ID == false, connect failed

            Please see this 'Sticky' thread at the top of the Troubleshooting Forum for an explanation of the causes of this error:

              I think it is ..

              I think we fall under these two.....

              a) The db info in your config.php file is wrong.
              b) The db user in config.php doesn't have permission to access the database listed in config.php.

              Can you help point me to correct these...

                Unfortunately I have no way of knowing what your db info should be. Did you create a db user and dataabase on the new server? If so, you should know the dbuser, password and dbname.

                Also if you have cPanel or an equivalent web site control panel there should be a MySQL or Database section where you can check your db user and databases and make sure they have the correct permissions.

                  Thanks for your reply...

                  In my cpanel over at the server. I went to manage database "phpmyadmin"

                  The database files are all backed up and loaded in the "database" but under mysql> create new databse> no privliages

                  Could this be the reason...

                  Thanks again...

                    Look at the vB database specifically. Does it have any users attached to it, and of so, what are that user's permissions?

                        I think I will have to pay for support on upgrading and proper configuration...
