From side view to top view

I have done it before and can't remember for the life of me.

How do I change the Avatars and titles, etc. from being on the left side to being on top of each post?

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Style & Language Settings -> Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template -> Radio Button to No

Keep a journal somewhere on what edits you do and quick lookup notes so you do not forget it the next time.

One more quick question. Not sure it can be answered here since it is about a hack, but when I changed this, our gifts no longer show up. Anyone know how to get them to show by our names again?

That is because you were using postbit_legacy style and the edits were made to it. You have to make same edits to postbit template? I do not know which hack you are talking about, but you should ask the author of that hack or view an information that maybe porvided in the hack's thread @ www.vbulletin.org/forum.
