How do I.... (move the forum to a new domain)

Ok I have a forum that is located at one of my 3 domains, I now would like to move the forum to another domain name to use it there... can I do that?
I mean do I have to load it all up again or do I just what.. lol... I am a bit lost here on what to do..

I'm asking the same question. I have 2 domain names on the same server. Of course, I can't use the database from one domain for the 2nd domain.

When it asks me to create a database, it won't allow me to enter in the current database that vBulletin is on with the 1st domain.

So, how do I move from one domain to the next without losing members, posts, arcade, etc., etc.?

You may not be able to do this depending on how the server is setup. You will most likely need to backup and restore the database on the different domain and edit your config.php accordingly.

Note: The only consistently reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. Please see the instructions here:

This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeout errors and an incomplete backup file.
