  • vBulletin (Forum) Database error!

    Hi,
i keep getting around 30 of such emails every day and my host says they don't see any errors...

    I run vBulletin Version 3.0.8.

    Emails contain such data:

    Database error in vBulletin :
    Link-ID == false, connect failed
    mysql error:
    mysql error number: 0
Date: Tuesday 20th of September 2005 11:43:35 AM
    Script: <http://www.myurl.net/vb/member.php?find=lastposter&f=37>
    Referer:
    IP Address: 64.62.168.51

    ------------
Surely script URL, IP# and date varies, but the above info is always the same. In MySQL error log there's nothing about any errors.

Please help me to track the problem.

    Thanks,
    SpyCam

This error could be caused by any of the following:
      1) The database information in your config.php file is wrong (in which case your forums won't work at all.)
      2) The user doesn't have permission to access the database specified in config.php.
      3) The database doesn't exist.
      4) MySQL isn't accepting new connections. (The server could either be down or has reached it's maximum connections limit.)

Almost all the problems that cause the Link-ID == false error are beyond our power to resolve, and must be dealt with by your host.
