  • mysql ampersand

I looked everywhere else for this info so I wouldn't have to bother the vbulletin team, but I can't find it documented anywhere.

When I want to do a sql query that says "admin email = yes" I use this:

    AND (options & 16)

and somehow it looks into the options field and figures out if the user has adminemail = yes, which I guess is 16.

    My question:

what is the function of the ampersand in the sql query? It is not documented at mysql.com as far as I can tell.

thanks for shedding some light on this, I am just curious what it is, maybe others are too.

See this post in this thread. The explanation for PHP's "&" operator also applies to MySQL queries.
